The Good Morning Girls - Tech Accountability

The Birth of a Tech Based Accountability Group:
The Good Morning Girls

In September of 2007, 11 women joined together to begin a 6am Club. Every morning at 6am, I (Courtney) emailed the 11 women to say "Good Morning" and I shared what I had read during my quiet time in the Bible. Then each girl replied to the group and shared what they had read during their quiet time. It was the birth of a tech based accountability group!

In December of 2007, the group took a break and when the new year began the 5 of us pictured above (left to right: Aimee, Melanie, Kelly, Kelly and Courtney) began the "Good Morning Girls". We learned that 6am was a bit ambitious for us stay-at-home moms with 15 children between the 5 of us! Some of the babies did not realize that mommy had to get up so early!   So we revamped the system and decided to just email the group whenever we had gotten to our quiet time. We all aim to have them first thing in the morning - but when circumstances don't cooperate - we have them during nap times or before bedtime - wherever we can squeeze them in!

A year later we have a bond that only the Lord Jesus could have given us. We not only share what God is teaching us in our quiet times, but we share our parenting struggles, our homemaking struggles and tips, we encourage each other, pray for each other and get together to discuss things of God.

In Ecclesiastes 4:9 it says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!"

I believe that accountability is a great tool to grow in intimacy with God. Technology has made it possible for women everywhere to connect from their own homes with other women. So the Good Morning Girls Blog here at this site is created for you. Do you need accountability? I know I do!

The goal is to dig into God's word and live well!  Every weekday morning I will be sharing with you what God is teaching me in my quiet time. If you want accountability just leave a comment about your quiet time at the end of my blog. I look forward to your visits and hope you will share with me and others what God is teaching you!
